I’m a mom, a wife, a lifelong South Texan, and a committed conservative.

Kristin Luckey – A Resilient Voice for District 37

My name is Kristin Luckey, and I am proud to call Harlingen, Texas, my lifelong home, as did four generations before me. Like many families in the Rio Grande Valley, my story is one of resilience. Life has brought challenges, but each one has strengthened my determination to get back up, work harder, and continue serving others.

I was raised in a blended family surrounded by hard work and perseverance. My father and stepfather were farmers, and my mother, stepmother, and grandmothers were strong women who led by example in their homes and communities. From them, I learned independence, grit, faith, and the importance of serving where you are planted.

My family’s agricultural roots run deep. My grandfather was a founder of the sugar mill that recently closed and served as President and a lifetime member of the Cotton Ginners Association. Through him, I learned early that land, water, and agriculture are not abstract issues. They are livelihoods, legacies, and responsibilities that must be protected for future generations.

I graduated from Harlingen South High School and went on to earn certifications in social media management, public relations, and nonprofit education through UT, UTRGV, and LSU. Later, while raising three young children and working full-time, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Careers Institute with a certification in Medical Coding and Billing. That season of my life reinforced a truth I still believe. With faith, discipline, and determination, anything is possible.

Professionally, I have worked with organizations such as AIM Media, Marine Military Academy, and on both local and federal political campaigns. Just as important, I have always remained deeply involved in my community. I have served on many local boards, including CASA, the Harlingen Arts and Heritage Museum, Tip of Texas Embroiderers Guild, the Harlingen Literacy Center and as Vice Chair of the Cameron County Historical Commission. I was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Texas State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners under TDLR.

At the heart of everything I do is service to the most vulnerable. My passion has always been to serve foster and abused children and to support the law enforcement officers, advocates, caseworkers, teachers and families who step in to protect and rescue them. That work is personal to me, and it continues to shape my priorities and values.

My greatest inspiration has always been my family. My grandmother began her career as a credit union teller working out of a closet sized office and went on to become President of what is now the Rio Grande Valley Credit Union. My mother followed that same path, serving as President of two different credit unions. Their leadership, resilience, and integrity set the standard I strive to live up to every day.

I am blessed to be married to a retired U.S. Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement Zone Officer who also served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division and as a U.S. Border Patrol agent. Together, we raised a blended family of five children, all now grown and beginning their own journeys.

I am a proud Texan, a Daughter of the Republic of Texas, and a lifelong resident of House District 37. I understand the values, struggles, and hopes of our community because I have lived them.

My goal is simple. To be a strong conservative voice in Austin who truly represents District 37. I will listen, fight for our families, protect our land and way of life, and ensure our community’s voice is heard loud and clear at the State Capitol.

District 37 deserves a leader who won’t back down.

I am ready to serve.
